PERMA-SEAL........Really great stuff. I saw it one on TV and thought it was automaticly junk becuase it's on tv. Then i went to a car show and there was a perma-seal rep. there doing tests on a car. I was impressed with some of the stuff he was doing so i bought a bottle. It's great for swirls and minor scrathes. Here's the link www.permasealwax.com check it out.

So what if I get one of those polishes but dont have the buffer? Is a simple hand swirling motion, gonna do anything? or am I just pissing away money to buy the good polish, with no buffer? By the way, awesome before and after pics. I have an alloy metallic and want to make it really pop
I dont know about you, but my arm cant move at 6k RPMs

Ok, so will polishing also remove surface scratches and scuffs as well as the swirls? Or will I have to do something different for the scuffs and surface scratches?
Also, i don't own a buffer, so is washing it really the only thing I can do? Is there a wax I can use just to protect it, or do I HAVE to polish it before the wax?
Basically, I want to protect my car from the elements. I Don't have a buffer atm. I live in an Apartment complex. What can I do?

Using a polish with abrassives will remove surface scratches and scuffs. If the scratches are light you can probably take them out by hand, anything else will require a polisher to get them out. My Light Polish works really well by hand.
I would use a polish first to take out your scratches and swirls, to bring out more shine and reflection, plus to clean your paint for the wax to bond better. Then you can apply your wax. My Wet Wax and Wet Obsession wax is very popular among the members here. Also, if you are looking for a polish and wax all in one the Optimum Poli Seal is a great product for that.
Since you live in an aparment complex, you should really checkout Optimum No Rinse, all of my cutomers that live in apartments love this stuff since you can't use a hose in my apartment complexes. I mainly use the No Rinse on my personal vehicles and on customer vehicles.

This requires a PC doesn't it?

If you are going to be taking out light scratches and swirls, you can do that by hand and not have to use a PC. Also, my waxes and the Optimum Poli Seal can all be applied by hand.
depends on how severe your swirls/scratches are. If it's very light, you could probably get away with doing it by hand but it will take a lot of effort. Using a PC makes the polishing process much, much easier and you'll get better results.
I have been meaning to order a PC and some pads for awhile, I just bought a pad and rigged it to a drill for now, but drill only turns at max 2.5k rpm =( So still leaves some swirls. I will def buy from OD now that I have seen the prices, If you are planning on buying a kit, go ahead and buy from OD, $200 is a great deal for that package.
