Has anyone tried the Meguir's Headlight Restoration kit? I have seen the right up on the forums on how to sand and buff your headlight to make them look better, but was wondering if this was worth as shot. Anyone have any luck with this? Thanks
Those are resurfacing kits, are your headlights in really bad shape?
If they are severly scratched and pitted to the point where no light can come through you probably need to resurface them, otherwise if its just a oxidation problem the safest and quickest way is to clean them with a pure liquid non abrasive deoxidizer.
Even toothpaste, ( which will remove the oxidation) will cloud the headlight surface with millions of scratches.
You are going to want to keep that UV layer intact on your headlights as long as you can.
Without it the lens will turn yellow which is worse than oxidation because UV yellowing penetrates beyond the lens surface and in most cases cannot be removed.
