Cool Details on how I detailed and Polished my 2010 for the 1st time!

I thought I could offer some useful tips and a good outline for detailing your car. Today I broke my pony's P(olish)-cherry. I have waxed my car (2010 Kona Blue V6) with McGuire's once before, but today after thoroughly cleaning the exterior, I applied a Scratch Out formula, AKA polish. Everything on the entire car was re-protected. This is how I did it.

EXTERIOR PAINT:
When doing the polish, I did the hood in four small segments. This way you can maintain a thick enough coat of polish in your circles, making sure it actually works, while not getting too rowdy and getting yourself into trouble by having to dig it out of the cracks later. Applied with a pad and removed with a soft cloth.

After removing the polish, I applied McGuire's Gold Class paste wax with a pad and removed with a soft cloth. Did not worry about making circles whilst removing, instead just wiping it straight off for the most part and removing residue after the li'l schmaglets rubbed and rolled away. If any little bits get between the trim and paint, a vacuum cleaner or air duster may help in loosening and thus removing them.

To make sure none of the polish or wax that got on the vinyl stained or discolored it, I applied Mother's brand Back to Black which might I add, is a SUPER product for restoring the color of virtually any black rubber or vinyl trim. It is not stubborn on paint, but one shouldn't delay promptly wiping it off the paint if you go off the edge of the panel, decklid, trim, etc. Since these parts' edges are in the way when waxing or polishing, usually the reverse problem occurs when trying to avoid the paint when doing this.

PLEXI-GLASS:
Interior and exterior windows, headlights, tail lights, reflectors, etc. were treated with McGuire's PlastX, which restores the brilliance and sleekness of plastic/glass composites. It's great for removing stubborn bugs stuck on the windshield while actually sharpening the look of the assembly rather than scratching it with a brush. Note: NEVER use any type of brush on anything other than your wheels! PlastX does tend to be stubborn when wiping off and may take a while to find the spots here and there before it's removed completely, but just keep a soft cloth in the cabin; it is well worth the laboring.

INTERIOR:
Vacuum then use Power-out solution for soaping and scrubbing the carpets and stains on cloth. The built-in brush in this product is very convenient. Armor All or Turtle Wax protectant can revive sun-damaged dashboards, rear decklid if you have one, door trim, steering wheel, etc, and can also be used on leather seats.

WHEELS:
Wheel Brightener formula works wonders, followed by Wadding Polish which can be used on metal and chrome surfaces on the interior as well as exterior including the wheels, exhaust tips, lest we forget the Pony herself of course.

TIRES:
Tire Wet/Black Magic, NO TOUCH (at least I think that's what it's called), or most any tire conditioner will put the finishing touches on your well-detailed ride!

I will take some pictures of the result of this outline tomorrow and post the link here. Stay tuned.
