Wink Leave the stripe

Agree with what Orion posted - embrace your six-ness! My girl is a pony, too and I'm proud of that fact so I wouldn't hide her stripe.

My first Stang, Sally, is a V6, then I got Butch. Now they live happlily everafter in the barn. This is the best of both worlds cause some days I feel pretty, some I just wanna throw on a hat and peel rubber.

First tint the windows then think about it. My car looks identical to yours and tinting the windows makes a HUGE difference. Let me know if you want some pics. -David

Yes David....can you post a few pics with the windows tinted? Have you considered removing the stripe? I am thinking of getting black rims as well. Not sure if I can just have my current rims painted? Thanks.

If you put a V6 and a GT in a barn, together, in 9 months will you have a new 4 cylinder? LOL!

I say loose the stripe. I favor the clean side look. If you loose it your not perp'ing a GT, contrary to a comment or two on here......many many v6'ers from the factory did not carry the "appearance package" as an option and thus don't have the stripe or a spoiler. Make the car your own and apart from the "production" crowd....just don't put GT, Cobra, or Shelby emblems on it, you would be doing an injustice to the rest of the proud Sixers!!!

put some shoe polish or something over the stripe first to decide. Personally, I'd leave it.

Thanks for the input fellas. Thats a good idea about the shoe polish. I was actually thinking of removing it completely from one side only for a week or two to see if I liked it or not......I could always re-install on that side if I decided I liked the stripe on.

I know that in my photos ...the one without the stripe looks nicer IMO. I think with the windows tinted, stripe removed, and the rims blacked out....it will look sharp and represent the V6's nicely. It will still have the pony emblem on the front fender....the pony package lights in the grille....I am convinced it will look sharp.

One other question....I had 2003 V6 and put dual exhausts on it...Flowmasters...sounded nice. The pipes were below the rear bumper. On my current Stang...the 08's rear bumper is notched out for the single exhauset. If I were to go to dual exhaust...what is the deal with the single notch bumper...can you cut out the other side to match?

Last question....can I have the stock rims powder coated or painted black? Will that last or chip/peel off quickly?????

yeah, most people cut out the other side of the rear bumper to install duals. either that or get a gt bumper from somewhere. and you should have no problems with painting or powdercoating your current stock rims, as long as they are done by someone who knows what they are doing.
