Default Need some detailing tips

My 98 mustang is red and almost looks strawberry. It looks like the car was repainted one side but didnt paint the rest of the car.. So what would i have to do to bring the laser red back to life? I'm going to borrow a buffer from a friend but i need to know what kind of products to use and where to get them and the process of it. I already got a meguiars clay bar kit so what else would i need?

Have you ever buffed a car with a buffer before? I recommend doing it by hand first.

^^^ Agreed.

Although if it's a random orbital polisher you should be OK, search some "how to" videos and make sure to use quality pads. If it's a rotary buffer and you're not experienced you can easily burn your paint.

Use a porter cable and any kind of decent polish. I used Wolfgang products on my 03 cobra and they worked great!

its a rotary buffer. I'm going to be using it on a low speed though so i dont see a problem. Other then the basic like dont keep it in the same spot, dont tilt the pad, dont put pressure on the buffer.. what else would i need to worry about?

Heres a pic:

You can see the mix matching colors. the left side was repainted laser red again but didnt bother painting the rest of the car... But they are the same color just the lighter red is faded alittle. Can that be brought back?

I have a bottom of the line rotary buffer
