Default Brown Spots on Fake Chrome From De-Icer

Just bought a used Acadia from Colorado. In the mid west they use some crazy liquid to de-ice the roads. I have tried almost everything to get the spots out.

I have used the following

1.) Rubbing Compound

2.) Never Dull

3.) Chrome Polish

Any other thoughts? I will hate to spend cash on new parts but it looks like hell on the bumper insert and hood insert and I just cant get them off.

Thanks for the input ahead of time!!

what do you mean by fake chrome? is it like mirrored vinyl? or that chrome plated plastic stuff? if rubbing compound or chrome polish wont take it out then the only other thing i can think of is laquer thinner...but not sure how that will do with the "fake" chrome...
