Question Will WD-40 harm my finish

Pulling off the rocker stripes from my black V6 Pony Package. I am expecting a little residue....someone mentioned using WD40 to remove the residue instead of Goo Gone.

I have both...WD and Goo Gone....I don't want to mess up my shiny black gloss finish.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

wd-40 will be fine, as long as you wash after you are done. i personally think that the goo gone will work a little better, but you might as well try both...

I agree, I would go with the Goo Gone first. Let it sit on there for a few minutes and the residue will come off a lot easier.

I'm right back where I was ....because I've had other people tell me that Goo Gone will harm the finish.....

I guess I will try both in an inconspicuous (did I spell that right..who cares)...spot first.

thanks.
