Well my hood started chipping about a month ago and now its really bad. So i went to an auto body shop today and they quoted me with a price of $275 to paint the whole hood over again. Is this a good deal or should i go shop around for more prices. Its a 2000 cobra r hood if that helps.

Not a bad price, but always shop around. You did'nt get the quote from Earl Shibe did you?

Thanks for the info. Im gonna go run around to some other body shops tomorrow and get some quotes. No i did not get the quote from Earl Shibe.

$275...not terrible. Sound about right....but I agree, its always best to shop around. Tell them what they are up against

dude i think that price is a lil bit expensive , well i just received my cobra rr hood last friday , and i live in the border with mexico , so i installed my hood myself and on saturday i took it overthere to see for how much would they paint it , so i saw a body shop i stopped so i asked the guy how much and he said to install it properly and everything paint and all $1000 pesos , thats about 100 bucks so i said cool i left my car there at 1pm and he said they would have it ready at 6pm so i took a taxy with my girlfriend and we went to the movies and all and when i went back , damn the guy did a hell of a job , and the best part just for 100 bucks!

100 bucks is a GREAT price. But $275 sounds good too. Don't be cheap, get it done at a good body shop or you'll be sorry. Trust me, when it comes to these things it doesn't pay to be cheap.

lol my friend worked at a body shop and when he was I asked for a quote to repaint my factory GT hood they said 500 haha it's NY but still after hearing that it just makes me laugh

We'll know how good a deal it was in 6 months. Quality work doesn't come cheap.

Thanks alot for all the replies. I did go around and shop at about 5 different places and got quotes anywhere from 200-600. So i went back to the first place that said $275. Just got the car back yesterday and they did a damn good job. They also warrenty their workmanship for a lifetime and the paint is 5 years. Thanks again for all the replies.
