Oh Jeez, My Hood Flew Up On Me
I have a 4" cowl hood, fiberglass, and I stupidly forgot to put the pins back in. I then drove off and it proceeded to fly up in my face. Ive never done anything like this so I have no idea how to fix it, although I know there is a way to. I want to do everything up to painting the sucker, so any instructions would be great!

Ouch, I know all about hoods flying up I did the same thing on my 99 gt. My damage was more than yours. I see this was posted a while ago and no one replyed. I'm not exactly sure what all you can do to fix it. Did the part that is that is sticking up split away from the bottom? Have you tried to see if that part that is sticking up will push back down at all? You might be able to fill it with body filler and get it smooth again before painting it. I'm sure someone on here knows more.

body filler is not the answer here.
You need some fiberglass cloth and some epoxy. You pretty much need to cut around the rip but not take the whole piece off. Just enough to have a space to use for bonding. You will need to sand down a bit around it. Then take the fiberglass cloth and cut small small pieces. mix the epoxy and the small fiberglass cuts into a cup. Use that concotion as the filler for the gap you had just cut.
Then measure some more cloth to lay onto the crack and cover it up. use epozy on both the bottom and the top of the cloth. You will need a heat lamp as well.
Once it dries, ( and you may need a layer or two ) sand it down smooth to match the level of the rest of the hood. prime, paint and clear.
all in all if you don't know what you are doing you will pay more in materials than having the thing fixed by a shop. good luck
