Weather look on Front Grille Pony

Weather look on Front Grille Pony
I used VHT Nite Shades to black out my pony a couple weeks ago and today I noticed there were quite a few areas where the paint was coming off. I decided to sand it down and re-paint it, and as I did it became apparent that the sanding was giving the pony a nice weathered look to it. So for now I decided to leave it that way. It's a work in progress and may take a few times to get it just right.
Basically I screwed up and I'm trying to fix it until I replace the front bumper and grille. :-)

Thanks. I don't have much of a choice anyway. I'm afraid to try and remove the pony again - the posts are fragile from the first removal. But overall I really do like the look. I'm done touching the car for now except for tires, brakes and detailing. Famous last words and I hope it holds up. :-)
