SON1C Blue Full Paint Correction Picture Heavy :D 50+ Hours Invested
sneak peak..
This was my initial correction on this vehicle ( My 2003 Sonic SON1C Blue GT 4.6L ) ... the paint was needless to say.. trashed when I picked it up
griots garage polisher w/ 5" backing plate
Cyan Hydro Tech Pads
Tangerine Hydro Tech Pads
note all pictures taken with iphone 4
quick wash..
The vehicle had already been clayed
remove headlights tails spoiler tape emblems
pad prep.. a little heavy lol
m105 correction begins.. incredible improvement
side by side comparison taped off both sides clean / ipa wiped
awful m105 dusting
another side by side of just 105
ipa wipedowns
12 hours
sitting dirty after just 105, no editing, great improvement already..
day 2..
different location, foaming session, quick wash
remove heads tails spoiler etc again
break out m205
polish, polish, polish
ipa wipedowns
finish day 2 ending with completion of step 2 polish
day 3..
total ipa wipedown
hand apply black light entire car.. twice
hand apply jetseal109 entire car.. twice
buff to new level
drive vehicle and proceed to be rained upon..
some of the expenses..
/
mothers microfiber, wow! under rated, much better than my over priced cobras and better than some of the cg towels, this towel is great, if you want a sample of it pickup a mothers claybar kit
my buddy's freshly corrected bumper
check out some of the contamination taken off of just a section of this piece..
and another..
guess you could say that im sold on black tails.. courtesy of my buddy's test fit! lol
how I keep track of my frog tape
midday day 2
foam down prep for m205 (day 2 / polish day)
wash
sampling m105 on relatives tahoe, they quickly learned its not as easy as it looks haha
little bit of pad cleaning, carpro paint cleaner.. yeah its not supposed to soften your clearcoat like apparently ipa will (which I used 70% 1:1) I used the paint cleaner, it acted pretty much the same, maybe a little less potent, way over priced its something like 1000x more expensive than IPA, I pickedup a couple 32 oz of ipa for cheap from wegmans
//
mini photoshoot upon completion
