yes. other sites dont require that many posts. Someone could have 50 useless posts and that wouldnt prove they werent out to scam people. I guess other sites will just have my business.

what is it that you need to do, that you cannot?

our classifieds section is not an alternative to ebay or craigslist..its intended for members to buy and sell things, not random scammers...which was becoming a problem.

Haven't been on this site for over a year (was under another name back then). Nice to see the mods have gotten the flame wars (and one of their own) under control.

+100 I find all the bitching about these newbie "restrictions" awfully funny. Because if you came here to use this forum as it is "intended"......you wouldn't be in this thread whining about how come you have 3 posts to your name and can't post something in the classifieds section. You got s**t to sell?... peddle your *** over to Ebay or something. You're supposed to join a site like this to get tech feedback and discuss your car (or cars in general) with members of a familiar community. You don't like to post much?, that's fine. But don't get pissy because you don't have the seniority priviledges of a 5 year member to go with your whopping 16 post count. I think alot of you are really missing the boat on this whole "car community message board" concept.

Sorry RoTM....I had to let that one out.

from my perspective, it's kind of a downer because i'm new to the mustang. i have nothing to contribute yet. it's hard to post in the tech forums if you are mostly clueless. I also can't afford to mod a lot right now, so there's not much point in asking a lot of questions.

i have nothing to sell, i just want to be able to post in off topic. i could contribute there i think.

i have nothing against trying to control the trolls; i think that's a good thing.

also, i think there's too much emphasis put on post count. it means nothing really. you could have a new member that is a mustang designer for ford with no posts at the same time you could have a moron with 2000 posts that offers bad advice and bashes people. who's the better member?

Go to google and search, there is more then one mustang forum. Being around forums for a while you learn to live with the communitys rules or take a hike. Almost every forum has a guideline for posting in certain areas like the classified section. You will get some guys who come on just to sell stuff and then thats IT. Chances are any question you want to ask will be found by searching the topics in question, so chances are I wont post much as all.

Other good forums are:
www.mustangsandmore.com
www.fordmuscle.com

www.allfordmustangs.com isnt bad but I just lurk there.

Or you could be like me join a year ago and then post ***** lol.... j/k

Well, post count does tell you a little something about someone. I mean, someone who's a complete idiot and constantly harrasses other members (for example) probably will get booted long before they build up a decent post count. So when you see someone with over 1K posts, it's a pretty good bet that that guy has at least adhered to the rules and/or has proven to be a valuable contributor to the site in some way, shape, or form. It's no different than having seniority at a job. Sure the new guy coming in might be able to do the job just as well, or even better, than the guy who's been there for 20 years. But he hasn't proven himself yet to the extent that the tenured guy has. Comes to the point that respect in these communities must be earned. Is post count the final judge of how valuable a member is? No, of course not. But it does factor in, and rightly so.

Default looking for access.

I have been a member on here for years with over 90 posts and I was just curious if the post counter started at 0 when you enacted the new rule. Or is there a different reason I can't post everywhere?

Douchebags with a high post count get taken care of. How often do we have a new member that is a mustang designer for Ford? How often do we have people that join just to spam, buy, or sell, and never return?
