Since this is a feedback forum here is some from me.
I think this rule (30 days 50 posts) is counter productive as far as building any sort of online community.
I would guess that close to 100% of the people that join are Mustang owners and are mature enough to post responsibly. IMO forcing people to put up 50 posts or wait only serves to foster poor post quality.
I have been the admin of a site that rivals the traffic and member volume this forum has and we have never had to use such a heavy handed method to control spammers or trolls. Every forum has Moderators forums and ban features to eliminate these issues.

^^ you apparently haven't been to the off topic section yet
at times, i do kind of agree that a 50 post count does seem a little high for legit members; but on occasion, there are spammers that unload their info wherever they can, so a 50 post count minimum does help prevent them from accessing certain areas before the mods have a chance to use their ban-hammer.
That is flawed thinking. Punishing new members with a 30 day wait or a 50 post "entry point" to certain forums using reducing spam as an excuse is absurd. How can you reasonably expect people to buy into that when there are forum sections still open to spammers? The solution to your issue is not to stifle your communities new members for a month, it is to more effectively use your moderation team, the private forum they have to communicate and lastly ensure there is enough moderators to handle the volume of posts/threads.
Censorship in any form does not serve to build community, in fact there would likely be a higher number of productive members in this online community if the wait was more reasonable or the post entry quota to other forum sections was lower. One month is far too long, and 50 posts only serves to encourage poor, short responses from people determined to get into the forums sooner.
We allow instant access to every forum module except of course our staff forum as soon as members join. IMO if you stay on top of things there is no need to drive off people with long waits or high post forum access quotas.
That said this is a great forum, and I have only a few days until I can fully join the community here, but it would have been nice to fully participate in it without a month long wait.

Sounds good. You going to pay us?
Members who join can still post and use the tech sections right from the day they register. No post count/day count period required. That's what MF is intended for, TECH stuff. It is not to be used primarily as a Classifieds forum or an Off Topic forum.
Also, how can this be a 'punishment' when new members have posted in agreement to the 30/50 rule?
But look, another post you can reply to so you can add to your quota.
I am also new on the site, and more of a reader, I have 2 blower systems i am looking to sell, along with possibly more parts and piece, but i dont just wnat to rack up spam posts in order to be able to add it to the classified section, any way around this?

Nope, this is the biggest reason for the 30/50 IMO. You could come on here, put up something for sell, and screw our loyal members and leave like it never happened. But if you have been here for a while and people recognize your name from the forum it is an assurance factor that the possibility of them being screwed is slimmer. It is kind of like feedback on ebay, it says I'm here to stay. I have never had an issue with anything I have bought on this forums classifieds because of this. I can't say the same for others.
