Don't rely on the temp gauge to tell you if it's hot.Mine stayed right where it normally should be,when I was extremely low on coolant, due to a cracked intake manifold. The fact that I had no heat, was the biggest indicator-no water getting to it.

Its got 50,000 miles and the thing is I got it at an auction and the intake manifold was not on it and they put a stock one on it but it has an upgrade dual exhaust and a cool air intake could it be that because there is alot of upgrades and they put a stock on back on it could it be effecting the way it runs

Auction makes me nervous. Was it public or dealer? Dealers are notoriously shady when they send vehicles back to auction.

The whole bogging, then fine for a few seconds after restart makes me think a sensor. Check the codes to start. Then I would start with the MAF, make sure it's facing the correct way and is clean. From there, check the fuel pressure, both at idle and while running.

I would try and monitor the fuel pressure when it starts to die down, a drop if fuel pressure would narrow your search down greatly.

I wonder if his gas tank vent is clogged, not letting air replace the gas as it is depleted from the tank.
