Default Should I Buy A Mustang GT

Greeting To All;

I am looking to purchase a used Mustang GT. I live in NYC so the Cobra is out due to the high insurance and the like. Now I am new to this site and a friend recommended me here to find out info about the Mustangs before I buy. The car is 97 in black with leather and its manual.

Coming from someone who never owned or even rode in a Mustang. Could you members give me some feedback on the Mustangs.

Is it durable, strong (will it last me a long time)

Can I drive it hard without worrying about damaging the car. Questions like that I would appreciate some feedback on. I have a Honda with 89,000 miles on it and that thing is just a pain in the butt. I bought new from dealer and it had had a shimmy in it ever since. I cant drive it above 60 MPH cause there is this burning smell coming from it. And if you drive above 50, its shake rattle and roll, and this car has been properly maintained. Case in point I want it gone. My other car is a Lincoln Town Car 89 with 476,085 miles on it. No problems whatsoever with that one, but its the family car and I need something for me just to commute with.

Thanks you.

I am very partial to the 96-98 Model Mustangs. Please give me any input possible about these cars.

lt will last long if you take care of it and maintain it well. Any car can break down easily if you drive it hard all the time. lf you want some good power and don't wanna pay too much, the Mustang is your car. lf you're buying a used car, check the maintanence records, give it a good test run before you buy it and make sure you aren't getting ripped off.

paco this a mustang forum not camaro forum. mustangs are better. Line up a 03 cobra and 03 SS up and see who wins. There is a reason when you drive down thye road you see way more mustangs then you do camaro's.

Maybe you could buy a 2004 Camaro...wait a minute...THEY DON'T MAKE THEM ANYMORE! Haha. Serious dude, go with a Mustang, you will get alot more looks and much more respect. If you can find a Stang in good shape that hasn't been abused, buy it, cause it will last awhile. My 94 V6 had 145,000 miles and still ran great. Go with the best, go with a Mustang.

RedHot, don't be a smart ***.

The horsepower wars are starting, and I'm going to laugh my *** off when the F-body replacement smokes a Cobra.

I just joined this forum, but I would notjoin a CamaroForum just to bash them. I have always been a Ford Man, but I respect all makes. I hated to see the F-body cars discontinued. Competition keeps the manufacturer's on there toes.

A mustang will last a while for sure. They are also easy to mod.
