Default posi

how can I tell if my car has posi. I know this sounds dumb, but I need to know. Everyone tells me that I must have posi, but when I take off I leave a one wheel burnout. The rear was in when I bought it and he told me it was 3.55. I need a lot of help with traction

your posi is shot if all it does is a one wheel burnout. agree with vfast about the rebuild, but why not go for a new Auburn posi and 3.73's while you're at it. I raced my '88 with an Auburn posi and 3.73's with 9" slicks and never had a problem with the posi even though they don't recommend it for drag racing.

While you are at it who ever does the rebuild or if you yourself do it make sure that you use one of the best used old clutches on each side with your new clutches. This will help tighten it up and last longer.

You are definately in need of a rebuild if you are dog legging it.

are you talking about posi or limited slip? GT's and LX's came with limited slip. i'm not trying to be picky here, i'm just trying to clarify things.
