Staring Problem HELP ME !!!!!
ok i have an 89 stang 5.0, cobra upper/ lower intake, 65 mm. tb, cold air indiction, E-303 cam, etc. i just recently removed my smog pump and also installed a bbk fuel press. regulator. i have it set at 40psi with the vaccum tube diconnected. (i have stock injuectors) after i did these 2 things ive noticed that sometimes when i start my car it takes longer to fire up, it cranks longer. after it starts it runs fine but it never used to take this long to fire up. i dunno if its with my car not getting enough fuel psi. or what??
also when it starts it backfires in the engine, not the exhaust.

Well try turning it to the on position and letting the pump run for a minute before starting it. If that helps then it's probably a fuel problem, pressure, flow, or something else. Also I'm looking at getting the E-303 this summer, how do you like it in yours? How much of a differance did it make?

yea vertstang, i love that cam, it sounds sick when it idles. it like romps its a sick sounds i love it. as for performance im guessing it makes some good hp but i dunno, i got it put in with my intake, tb and cai so it wasnt just like i did that mod and could tell a difference besides the sound from just the ecam.

sounds to me like the pressure regulator is bleeding off all the pressure after you shut the car off and it takes a couple of seconds for the pressure to build back up when you first turn on the key after it's been sitting for awhile. just pause a second or two after turning the key on the let the pressure come up and see if it don't start quicker this way.
