Vibration with automatic
Hi,

My 1998 Mustang has a vibration that occurs for two or three seconds when shifting under light acceleration at speeds of around 35-45 mph. It almost feels like the car is travelling over washboards.

Any thoughts on what is causing it?

Thanks.

None. I found a service bulletin for mid-90s Mustangs (among other Fords) that described the symptoms perfectly, and it said degradation of the transmission fluid could cause it. I was just wondering if this is a known issue.

Replace the tranny fluid. If this doesn't get rid of the problem, I would also look at the flex plate, torque converter set up. A bent flex plate/loose converter will cause this also. You don't want that coming apart at highway speeds.
