my buddy has 17x9 wheels and he has 315 Nittos on them!! Go big!!! but personally i would go with BFG's mine hook up great! i drove the car with the 315's and mine hooks up better than that one!

Ok.... PPL at tires.com said a 275 was as big as I could go w/out problems.

I should have told you this the first time you asked StangMang, on the stock 15x7 turbine wheels on my '88, I was able to run a 26x9 Hooiser slick but in a turn off the track the inside of one tire would just barely rub on the outboard shock just enough so I could hear it squeak when I turn off the track. I removed the shocks since I didn't need them anymore as I did some rear suspension mods and have a pinion snubber too, so hope that helps you out some. 9"=229 mm
