I was actually shocked by this car....I've always thought they were a decent import for what they are...But about two nites ago I watched a kid I know walk a Z28....The WRX had nothing but a huge blow off valve... I cant remember how much boost but I know it was high for the car being basically stock....I know they get the jump on most cars seeing its AWD but never did I think it would walk the Z28...It did it by a good 2-3 cars too....shocking but made me laugh bc its a camaro lol

They're only making 20,000 SRT-4's. They just got a few in up at the Dodge dealer near my house. I might go test drive one just to see. People are constantly test driving it. It's gonna get so many miles put on it before it ever gets sold. </P>

Stock WRXs run best with the stock bov. From what I've heard, the ECU expects to see that extra air dumped back into the intake, not out to atmosphere. Most of the guys I know with WRXs have either never swapped the BOV out or they went back to stock after a short while.
Even the modified ones.
They're rated at 227hp, but they've got 3 cats - the stock exhaust is a massive obstruction to making decent power in the WRX. By swapping out the uppipe they decrease the spool up time, and by replacing the downpipe with a bellmouth piece they bump power noticeably. Throw a decent high flow cat and cat-back on it and the power gain is substantial.
The SRT-4 weighs about 500lbs less and doesn't have the drivetrain drag of AWD, so it should be faster, even with 12 less hp (but 28 more ft-lbs and 4/10ths more displacement).
And from the sound of the review the SRT-4 is more of a purposebuilt street racer (no muffler?).
Fast? Sure. But it's still a Neon with a PT cruiser engine.

I saw a bit on Car & Driver last weekend on the SRT-4.....I may be off a little but I think they were running the 1/4 in mid 15's.....which i really dont care about but i thought if a car has a turbo on it, it should be able to run faster than stock staurns or cars of that sort...maybe it wasa mistake on what they said but im pretty sure they said in the range of mid 15's.....correct me if im wrong guys
