Has anyone heard of swapping a Ford EFI 300ci I6 into a New Edge SN95?
is it gonig in an SN95 or is it gonig in a New Edge? Two completely dfferent styles. SN95 = 1994 - 1998. New Edge = 1999 - 2004.

For some reason I thought they had more room in the engine bay than the old SN95s. Those things were cramped!

UMM no actually they are very similar, they share the same k member and the same motor set up, then engine bay is also the same along with the axle mounts being the same too, by the way they also share the same interior!

If you want something unique,get a Bell Jet Ranger helicopter engine and fit that inside the engine compartment.they have about420 hp for take off and 370shaft HP available for continuous cruisingand they sound like HE!! on earth.

Jay leno had one in a bike and said it was awesome.It was like being pushed along by a giant hand.Fuel capacity was about five gallons,and the range was enough to find another gas station that sold kerosene or diesel.
What do you think the retail is on one? Also, if we're thinkin of the same bike, I doubt it'd fit. There's always the Triton V10 idea...

Sn95 = 94 to 2004
Are you sure about that? Every source I have seen says that the SN95 stopped in 1998 and the New Edge came out after that. I've heard it locally, I have read it in mustang weekley while back, and it even says so here on this site. Look on the right hand sidebar above the ads and click on the SN95 and then click on the New Edge links.

They may be similar, but were considered a redesign. If they were still making SN95s after 1998, why would they change the name?

The specs aret even the same. When comparing the 1998 (last on the SN95) to the 1999 (first New Edge), the 1999 is slightly longer, not as wide, had 35 more HP, and had 10 more foot pounds of torque. Maybe they had similarities, but it was definately a different vehicle. Hell the Fox had many parts in common with teh SN95, but it's still a different vehicle.

I'm not sure about cost but you could probably buy one that is timed out for very little.Timed out just means it can't be used in a certificated aircraft anymore,there's lots of life left in them for other uses.I think I watched a TV show about a racing boat that used a jet engine that was bought for a few thousand dollars at a military auction.
The bike was made to fit the engine,the engine wasn'tsqueezed into an existing frame.The problem with putting big piston engines into bike frames is the reverse torque effect.The engine block twists the frame in the reverse directionof the crank rotation.This isn't a problem when the engine is mounted transversely but when mounted lengthwise it could be uncontrollable.I suspect this is why the Chrysler Tomahawk V10 bike has four wheels.I don't think turboshaft engines have this problem.There used to be a military helicopter pilot on these forums,I wish they would chime in on this one.

I'm 10000000% positive about all 94 to 2004 being SN95 platform. New edge is nothing more than a nickname

If it's just a nickname and not a redesign, why is it so different and why do allteh sources talk as if it's a new design? It may be similar or have similarities, but I haven't seen any sources calling a 2004 an SN95 and I haven't seen any saying that the New Edge is the same as an SN95.

The 1999 Mustang marked the official 35th anniversary of the Ford Mustang, and it also marked the beginning of new era with yet another redesign. While the prior generation, the SN95, successfully completed the task of getting the Mustang back atop the pony car market, the performance car market was swelling up around the Mustang, with entries from not only domestic automakers, but now from Japanese entries. So, when the 1999 Mustang debuted, called the "New Edge" it put an emphasis on improving styling as well as performance, and the sharp new lines and increases horsepower did just that. While the New Edge was not a huge redesign in comparison to that which was seen when moving from the Mustang II to the Fox Body or the change seen in the Fox Body to the SN95, but the change was significant enough to be considered a full redesign.
The 1998 Ford Mustang would mark the final year of the SN95, and evidently the news of the SN95 coming to an end brought about a sales rush, as sales numbers jumped from around 108,000 to almost 176,000. This was surprising considering the relatively poor sales of the 1997 Ford Mustang, and also considering the fact that nothing had changed from the 1997 model to the 1998 model, except for the deletion of the dash clock, but it can be assumed that an extra 69,000 people bought a 1998 Mustang because they didn't like how the clock looked. The Saleen models were once again the same as the previous year with the S-281 and S-351, but to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the Saleen Mustang, the SA-15 was offered. The SA-15 was a dressed up S-281, and was very rare, with only 10 produced, and those 10 are easy to recognize due to their bright yellow paint and wheels.
I could be wrong and I can't say for 100% certainty... but I find it difficult to believe that these sources would ahve it wrong.
