Default Ram Air/UD pulleys - March Performance

Anyone currently using this ram air system or these underdrive pulleys?
I'd like to hear some feedback.

I have the March Underdrive pullies, they are awesome. The engine reved quicker and there was a SOTP difference during acceleration.

That Ram Air kit is interesting. Is that supposed to go into the dead hood scoop area or somewhere else?

I don't have direct experience with ram airs but if the idea is to shove the incoming cool air right through your filter to your engine, I suspect that hose piece goes into your fenderwell hooked up directly from the air box, and then to that crazy piece (the one that looks like a vaccuum cleaner attachment) which is mounted either under your car or in the passenger foglight slot... Honestly, I think i could rig up something just as effective from a trip to home depot. I hear that there are issues with ram air and water. I guess it would be nice it someone who develops these kits (costing them $10 in parts for a $130 markup) would make a way to switch between using a normal style intake and the ram air that doesn't require removing the thing. Just a switch indash that closes a valve to the ram air and opens one in the fenderwell would probably make it a much more popular mod. Which gets me to my next point, Does the mach 1 shaker have any special feature to deal with precipitation/dirt/rocks....etc?

http://www.classicdesignconcepts.com...r_install.html

According to that, there are drain tubes but I believe those are for water that builds around the hood scoop assembly itself. However, here is what the recommend towards the bottom....

Assembling Air Tube:

A) Remove stock air filter and rubber air snorkel housing from vehicle.

B) Cut out air filter housing template.

C) Place template on air filter housing following instructions

D) Mark hole locations onto air filter housing and drill as shown.

E) Drill a 5/16th hole in bottom of stock air filter housing at it's lowest point for drainage.

F) Attach Shaker air tube to air filter housing (Figure 8 & 9)

NOTE: When reconnection the filter housing to the mass air flange, it is imperative that the union is properly sealed to prevent a false reading from the mass air sensor.

"E" is the important one. I personally would like to see an aftermarket modification for the fake hoodscoop. It would
1. Have to be somewhat easy to install
2. Not have negative side effects. (loss of HP)
3. Be fairly inexpensive (about 100-200)
4. Provide some gains in performance

I just hate having something fake like that on the car. I can deal with the side scoops as just being cosmetic. Hood scoops are supposed to be functional though.

Take care,
Ceyko

The ram air is a waste of money. It wont help till you reach speeds of 80+ mph. Other than that it will work as a very expensive cold air intake. Just get a Densecharger.

what do you call an des.charge..cheap?.......that ram air is prone to suck up all kinds of sh it plus water.....getting something in the fenderwell and the biggest filter that will fit in it will be a big help..

If I'm not mistaken though, the AC provides little to no resistance when not in use. So, bypassing it when not in use is probably not worthwhile.
