I have a 88 mustang GT that was hit in the front end, and it got totaled out.I have an oppertunity to buy this clean 91 with a 2.3. Other than the obvious stuff like engine trans computer andwiring, what else has to be swapped out? I imagine the rear has to be swapped too, but do all the 5.0suspension parts bolt up to the 2.3's body? And what about suspension, spring and shocks have to be swapped, but what about the control arms and stearing and such are they the same? Fuel pump or mabe fuel tank? Any other ideas or helpfulimput is appreciated.

the suspension is all the same, you can reuse the 4 cyl springs but it will lower the front end of your car a little bit. The rear endwill beok. If your transplanting from one mustang to another it should be pretty straight-foward. The motormounts off the 5.0 will fall straight into the 2.3l body, and the trans crossmember will be the same. I would just follow the book when it comes to the fuel injection system (i went carb on my swap). good luck!
As for the suspension, the 4cylinder body has 4 lug hubs, the 5.0 uses 5 lug wheels. so if the suspension in the front is the same then what has to be swapped? the spindle?, and what about the rear? the rear has to be different in the 4 cylinder right? at least the axels are different because one has 4 lugs and the other has 5.
this is the way i did it, and I might get some flak for it. I put an 8.8 with disc brakes for the diff, with 5 lug axels. I used lower a-arms, the spindle, and the struts off a wrecked 93 gt. then i used the 5 lug hubs and brake calipers off a lincoln continental, and fab'd the brake lines to work. It was a big pain in the ass, and theres really nothing wrong with the stock 4 lug/ drum brake setup, unless your building a serious street machine (which im not lol). Ive seen an 88lx with a poked and stroked 351 lift the front wheels off the ground at the strip, and the suspention was almost stock (4 lug). all he had on it was some control arms for the rear.
