Default mustangs are out?

I dunno guys but i have a feeling the mustang isnt going to be around much longer. seems like they are makeing it less economical. i heard the new style is only a 2 seater. and the price is not going to be the bang for your buck it should be. they need to stick with the comfertable mid size sports cupe with a buildable platform. im not saying i dont like the new mustang i love it, but im thinking about the life for the car. tell me what you think.

Where are you getting your info? The concept for the new one was a two seater, but the production is going to be four. Less economical? To be able tohave 300-400 hp, and still get around or near 20mpg sounds pretty good to me. Thats what my 1995 Grand Am with a 3.1l v6 with less than 190 hpgets. The new model isnt going tobe that much more expensive than the current models. Maybe a slight price increase of a few grand, but look at the performance you're getting. The Gt next year is going to have around 300 hp, and the cobra the next year is going to have over 400. Over 400 hp for under 40 grand...show me that anywhere else. And the platform, maybe it is time for a new one. The current platform has been around since what, 1978? Some people might say "Dont fix it if it aint broke", but who knows, the new one might be 10 times better than the current.

Just my opinion

Default mustangs are out?

well I've heard what allblack is saying cause ford redid the T-bird and it failed so they are not making it anymore. And now more and more people want SUV's and economy cars. But if Ford pulls through on the marketing plan whichI really hope they do cause I really like mustangs and I would hate for ford to stop manufacturing them. But there are reasons to believe that the mustangs maynot be made if Ford screws up. But I really hope ford can market the new mustangs for 2005 and up.

More people want SUV's and economy cars? Then why are all the car companies putting v8's, turbos, and superchargersin all their "economy cars". Just look at Chevy in the next few years. They're putting a v8 in the Impala, and Monte Carlo. Dodge just came out with the SRT-4, and now they brought back the Hemi and they're sticking it into the truck, and a few cars. And the trucks...Ford's 500hp lightning, Dodge's 500hp SRT-10 Ram, and hopefully Chevy will be able to catch up. Even look at what used to be economy cars like the Nissan Maxima, it now has 265hp, and the Honda Accord, 260hp. Those dont sound to me like economy car horsepower numbers. Dont forget the Evo 8, and Wrx STI.

Nah, economy cars are going away and muscle cars are coming back

well I hope so but ford isnt the greatest at marketing, it seems to me like other car companys do better in marketing than ford. I wish that wasn't true. Cause I am a ford nut. Hopefully your are right

Mustang88LXKid...You make a good point. Ford has made a few mistakes with their marketing, but hopefully its changing for the better. Oh, and the T-bird...it was a great ideato start off with, they just completely fu#ked it up.

who cares we will always have those that they already have made! yes it would be nive to have a 20 thousand $ muscle car that would be great but the times are ghanging and we just have to keep up. i really dont like the modular engines but they grow on you with time. i still love that push rod power though!
