Good Platform?
Hey all,
I'm looking to build a car for top speed and exelent handling. We have a few tracks on our areas.
I'd like to get a car that I could drive as I upgrade because I don't have the cash for 2 cars.
I have access to a lot of tools including welders tourches and plasma cutters.
I also want something that I can learn on. I'd love to make a career out of modifying cars and I'd like to make this a learning experience.
I don't have more then about 6 grand to start with so the new version is out of the question.
I'd like to get a v8 too.
Would a mustang fit the bill? If so which year I really dislike the pre 94 models because of asthetics.
Thanks.

RE: Good Platform?
Fox body or Mustang II, especially with only 6k to start with. You could try a 94/95, but you'll be spending more money on the purchase, leaving less for upgrades. Ford has raced almost all the Mustang chassis, so finding ways to make them good racers shouldn't be too hard. Don't think they ever raced the Deuce, however.
