Default Blue smoke

Hello Everyone:

I owna 97' GT. Bought it new more than 10 years ago. It has 143,00 miles and still feels strong. My problem, which started only recently, is blue smoke. Especially, when started. Aside from either rebuilding the engine or purchasing a new one, is there anything that I can do?

Desparate.[:@]

blue smoke on start up = valve guide seals (usually starts between 100K-150K) fairly inexpensive fix

blue smoke while driving = rings (requires a rebuild)

do a dry and wet engine comression test for more accurate diagnosis
