Default Question from a new Mustang buyer

Hi. I'm looking to buy my first Mustang, and I want to do my homework. I'm scanning the 05's and newer, and I need to know if Ford has done any recalls, if a particular year in the new body style is prone to bugs, defects, etc.

My whole expierance with the car is a 10 minute test drive. What are your guys's opinions, how does it ride? Sound? How does the power feel? I'm eyeing the GT, with the 300hp engine. Is this a good engine? Are there leaks, cracks, or other modification problems?

Something else, though I'm probably getting ahead of myself, from the driver's point of view, it feel's like I'm flying a plane with the huge flat wall of the center-console intrument panel. Has anyone come up with some fix to that? Everything under the windshield is spaced far apart on this huge gray/black wall, and it looks really cluttered and ugly. Is there a flat panel screen I can replace it with?

Hey even if there were recalls, no problem because Ford will fix it for free lol

and if your buying an 05+ you might be able to find one with a factory warranty still on it depending on mileage (and recalls are free fixes as said).

The 3v engines found in 05+ GT's are excellent engines with lots of potential- they solved the breathing problem the 96-04 2v's had with the addition of the valve. They seem to be dependable, and overall a good car for the buy.

I say go for it, only live once!

I purchased mine new in April 2005 and have had no problems. Never went back to the dealer. Drives just like I expect it to and this Mustang is easier to shift than my previous '89 LX or my '99 GT. I do not drive it in the winter.

A few mods are a must, including sequential tail lights.
