Need help! Buddy's Mustang won't run!!!
Alright guys, I'm new here. I know, I skipped the search function in hopes of getting some more specific responses from the community.
I'm posting here for a freind of mine. He has a 2000 Mustang GT convertible that will not stay running to save its life. We thought it was a problem with the plugs & wires, but those were replaced about 2 weeks ago. It ran fine for a while, then the weather got cold again & the thing fell on its face. He said that the revs dip down to about 200-300 RPM, surge back up, then when you try to go somewhere it dies.
I'm not much of a mechanic myself, so I have no ideas. If you guys could offer up some suggestions without too much flaming, that would be killer.
Thanks guys. I'll keep an eye out for questions about the problem just in case you don't have enough information.

IAC valve. Remove it, clean it wit carb cleaner, shaking it back and forth to ensure that the piston inside is moving freely, then put it back on. Worked wonders for my g/f's 1997 grand marquis 4.6.
