Removing Air Silencer?

RE: Removing Air Silencer?
It's not really a silencer. It takes air from bumper or fender, from outside hot engine compartment. You remove it, you will have to back out timing beause of hotter air, less efficient and less powerful engine..
There are plenty of cold air kits on eBay, get one that fits your budget.

well, yes it IS an air silencer, maybe think b4 you speak next time........it has nothing to do w/ cold air intake, the stock panel filter draws from the fender to begin with....what he is referring to is the conch shell shaped device installed by ford to limit airflow and reduce road noise
after you remove the filter housing there are (3) 7/16" nuts and then you just fish it out from below
congrats......not too many left w/ silencers still in there......you def have an original unmolested car
oh sorry to sound brash.....but i've been in the 5.0 scene since 1990, and too many guys on this specific forum talk of what they know NOTHING about and it gets aggravating......specially after i been drinkin
so sorry if i offended you
