Starting issue

Default Starting issue

So in the past few days my car hasnt started 3 times. its an 1988 mustang lx with a 2.3 auto in it, I dont understand it, it ran fine when i parked to go in wawa, came out put the key in the ignition turned it over and it didnt even attempt to start....the battery is fine all the gauges move to where and the stereo turn on...but i try a few times and it doesnt do nething...im stumped my dad said its possilbe that the ignition part where the key goes in may be going bad, can u guys give me a few things that could be the problem...its done it three times in the past 4 days, i dont understand it but yeah if neone can help me itd be great.

no it doesnt even attempt to start, i turn the key and nothing the gauges jump thats about all.

I bought a new ignition lock cylinder, i noticed that mine was loose, im assuming if thats the issue its not gripping like it should is only grabbin sometimes.
