Default 302 block

are all 302 blocks the same like could i take a "71 302 block and bolt up everything off of an "85 302 block? are all of the bolt patterns and what not the same?

Not a expert on this but I believe there are minor differences. Like different types of lifters. but i believe most of the minor differences can be machined so they can be acepted.

You want to install a '71 block into an '85? Yes, it'll work. The heads, intake, pan, and front accessories will fit just fine. If the '85 has a roller cam, you'll have to use a distributor made for the flat tappet cam in the '71 or convert the '71 to a roller cam.
