Groaning/vibration after hard take off... RPM dependant... Help? :)
Ok, 2002 GT, 5spd. yesterday and today i noticed a new noise that frankley has me scared. after an overly ambitious start (ie... Flooring it and spinning the tires....) once the RPM's drop down I hear a groaning type sound from my front. IT kinda soundsl likea power steering system does when you are low on fluid and turning your wheels. that noise that the pump makes? yea that one... well at idle it is scary sounding, if I tap the gas it increases in pitch until it is drowned out by the Flowmasters... I can feela vibration in the clutch pedal that increases in frequency with the increase n itchof the noise. I have popped the hood trying to find out where it is coming from under the hood, nad It seems to come from the front of the motor. Lot of help there right? .....
If I drive normally, the noise dosent show up. after I spin the tires it is there for about 10-15 mins. I think tomorrow I am going to drive the car and get it ice and warm, do a couple donuts to get the noise to start, stop the car and remove the serpentine belt to see if it might be one of the drivin accessories....
Any one have any ideas? please?
Oh, I do know the fluids are good, that was one of the FIRST things I checked...

Could be overheating one of the front bearings on one of the accessories. When the groaning starts, turn the car off, remove the serpentine belt and free spin all of the pullies, see which one doesn't sound right. You could also start the car up and see if the groaning is gone. Don't drive it for more than a few seconds with the belot offto see if the groan is gone.
