Agreed, thats something I missed. As with all high octane race fuels its only a benefit when octane gets too low for a given tune. Like high boost, timing, compression, or nitrous.

well there are some good point here.i for one ran e85 in my turbo muatang and loved it.you need to change all you o-rings for injectors and any other fuel lines to a viton o-rings.the ethonal will eat the rubber orings.you will need to change your fuel filter also since that stuff will strip out your fuel tank.my fuel system was all stock and was maxed out.you can run it on a stock motor but wont benifit that much from it.my lastest car i tuned for e85 is a stang with a 331 with 10 to 1 comp and runs really good.its tuned with a pms.it has 36lb injectors,we had an issue with the matching mass air so i had a mass air cali for 30lb injectors, with alittle tweaking and that mass air that car runs great.with the smaller cali mass made the injectors seem alittle bigger than what they were which worked very well.

Yeah, definetly agree. Treat it like race gas. Don't use unless you need it, or are a hippie.

I dont think the stock orings on the injectors will get eaten up if its at least a 89 or later built car. People say they corrode, but have you actually seen it? I know people running it for over 3 years on stock lines no issues.

Also dont run a mix on a stock tune. The ecu may not beable to compensate and you run real lean. I know people that have burned up valves doing this.

What about spark plugs? From what I'm tracking you need to install "cooler" or step-down plugs to maximize e85 combustion.
Good call on the fuel filter. I've heard the higher mileage the car you'll need to check/replace the fuel filter a few times when just starting out due to e85 "cleaning" out the tank. Or is it any vehicle regardless when you switch?
