how much nitruos could my motor handle
i just bought my second 87 gt. the car is super clean with front end damage i bought it for the motor and tranny but im going to fix the car up. mean while im taking the motor and tranny out and put it in my other 87, it has a tired motor. the motor on the wrecked car is a 95 motor and tranny, it has edlbrock aluminum heads crane rockers and a polished crank, pulleys jba headers msd super coil and a paxton fuel regulator. i want to know a ball park figure of how much hp it might have and what other mods i should do before i put the motor in the car. the things i want to buy are a electric water pump and fan, i also have a new nos wet kit but wondering how much of a shot it could take. probably puting new gaskets would be a good idea. my plan is to put the motor and tranny in and drive it while i fix the wrecked one then put a 460 in the wrecked one.

RE: need ideas with new motor
also one of my friends said to pull out the fuel inj. set up and put a victor jr. intake and a 650 or 750 carb and ill get more power. smog passing isnt a issue for me so if its true i could probably do that.

RE: need ideas before installing new motor
sotck block can handle 100 to 125 with no problem as long as stock fuel system is up to par. make sure ot back off timing 2* for every 50 shot. if using a 125 shot go with 6* of timing

RE: need ideas before installing new motor
i would be more worried about your pump then a regulator. regulator doesnt give power it just adds to the combo. ive seen a 100 shot on a completely stock motor. stock fuel also. just retard the timing tho set it at 8* or try 10* but no higher. also if you can get colder plugs and DONT SPRAY WITH PLATINUM
