Default Brake lights!

Hi thanks for your post!!! If you can help...please do!!! I have a 2000 mustang 3.8. Last week I replaced the head unit and and factory speakers. And instead of buying a wiring kit I wired the head unit in direct. NOW my brake lights dont work, nor my cruise control!!! Everything else SEEMS to be working fine.
Any suggestions? And yes I have already tried the fuses and fuse block. "Looked" at the brake switch, and it appears to be connected...
