new autometer gauge not working
just put in my autometer electric water temp gauge yesterday. i drove it today and it went all the way up to 210 and stopped. i dont think im running at 210 cause i have a 180* thermostat (mr. gasket), a new water pump and new radiator. the factory gauge (with new sending unit) is reading one dash under the middle point. also, when my stat opens, the factory gauge drops but the autometer just keeps going up till 210. also, when the factory gauge read 130, the autometer wasnt even reading 100 yet. should i call summit or autometer? i checked all the wires and they are fine. i know i didnt ruin the sender cause the batter was disconnected when i hooked it all up
the factory sender is in the front of the manifold in the stock location, the autometer sender is at the back of the manifold where there used to be a plug. both are on the drivers side

RE: new autometer gauge not working
I believe that you are reading a hotter temp because of the location of your temp gauge being on the back of the manifold. (I might be wrong on that) I am working on installing one in my car and am going to have a friend weld a button to a new thermostat houseing and drill and tap that for the new sending unit that came with my autometer gauge.

Try puuting a hose clamp around the sender with a stripped wire under the clamp and run it to the battery ground and see if it works right if it does you know its the ground.
