Here's the problem, I orderd a throttle cable from napa for a '85 model mustang w/ a carb. My car is a '92, also with a carb, but for some reason the cable will not pull the carb wide open. I've tried adjusting the cable back and forth on the cable bracket but with no luck. I even tried taking up the slack on the pedal side using a cable crimp and just ended up bending the gas pedal when i lay on the gas, and bent it even worse when both of the return springs were hooked up. So what i am asking is that i notcied in cj pony parts mag that there are yr. specific cables for certain mustang, so can anyone help me with this and maybe provied me with which stang i should pull a cable from.
