Default Change oil?

My 04 gto has about 1200 miles on the oil, but its over a year old. Im about to store it for 3-4 months. SHould I change the oil before or after I store it. I'm using German Castrol 0-30...full synthetic

yeah always a good idea to change the oil before storage. Used oil contains acids that you want to flush out before a long sitting period. 0w-30? Does your car call for that?

car calls for 5-30, but lots of lsx guys use 0-30 weight oil from Castrol.....its made in germany and different than the regular castrol syntec, hence the nickname german castrol.

you being in a hot climate I would use 10w30....you should at least change your oil twice a year even if it sits.....use a quality filter as well like a Hastings on a wix gold...also fill car with gas and use some fuel stabilizer as well

I also agree with changing the oil before storage.

Mileage intervals are for normal everyday driven cars.
