Default What is the best intake

Im looking to change the intake on my 95 gt. I was wondering whats the best intake around. I have heard good things about the trick flow and also the gt-40. What type of HP increases is this likely to give. I have heard about 40HP with the upper and lower being changed. Also, with a stock hood will i have any clearince issues?

I upgraded to a Profession Products Intake and it slightly touches the roof of my hood. In fact, I am lucky that it closes. As far as your intake is concerned it depends on your future mods for the car. Holly Systemax is great but if you are going to stick with stock heads then it is too much. If you stick something too small and then upgrade your heads you are limiting yourself. My P. Products is okay. I would go with Trick Flow unless you are going to upgrades your heads. Then, go with Holley or GT-40.

Depends 1000% on what other mods are on the car. If you have a high revving engine, a box type intake is the trick. For most applications requiring low end torque, a runner intake is the key.

Save an extra couple hundred bucks and do the heads first. You'll get more bang running modified heads on a stock intake then you will running stock head w/performance intake. Plus, what vfast said...make sure you have exhause, MAF, throttle body, etc...

The car has bbk shorty headers and off road H pipe, flow masters, granatelli mass air, bbk 75mm throtle body, bbk CAI, 3:73 gears, tremic trans, underdrive pullys, and an MSD ignition. BBK upper and lower controll arms, and sub frame connector. I know most of these mods are unrelated but i just wanted to make sure i didnt leave anything out. I have not had it at the track, but i dont think the time would be very impresive.
