Lightbulb Comparible 5.0 stang/mercury; bolt on 351w?

Im looking for a project engine to build up and would like some input. I want to buy a used engine and was wondering if i got a 5.0 from a mercury (same year range)if it would be the same. I have a 89 GT. Also, is it possible to bolt on 351 windsor heads to my 302? I found some used 351w casting "D00E". any info is greatly appreciated, Thanks. -Greg-

The 351 heads use a larger diamiter head bolt. 302 head bolts are 7/16 and the 351 are 1/2. But it is possible.

ARP makes head bolt kits with reducing washers, or bolts that have the 7/16 threads but a 1/2 shaft.

Best trap 107.11mph, we'll see what the new intake/carb setup does.
