Default 86 gt 5.0L thermostat

I bought a 180degree thermostat and installed it, but had forgotten which way it goes in, any help?

put the spring end inside the engine.

the spring side inside the thermostat housing, I did. so why would the radiator overpressureise and overflow.

Did you burp the system? That will cause it to do that.

the spring has to face into the motor. You may have it facing the front of the car. That will cause it to not sense heat and the car radiator will get hot. Did the car also over heat. Wat temp was it at. should not go over the 200 mark. maybe a little but not much

spring is inside motor, not sure of temp, going to buy a gauge now.
