Default fender pony emblems

Hey guys. Im going to take off the 232 emblems and put back on the normal running ponys like so

but heres the catch. they are going to stick out like a sore thumb. so should I just get the paint shop to spray them black and clear coat em or will that be dumb cause it will completely blend in? maybe get it sprayed darkish grey like my grille pony is? i also dont want to have nothing on the fender so the whole is showing. opinions? heres a pic of my car just for thoughts

thanks

I always like the red, white and blue behind the pony- very patriotic. Painting it would ruin that. If you're worried about it clashing- don't use it. I think a set of plain running horses would look much better.

Personally, I would install them as is- I think they would look much better than the '232'. However, I don't like light covers either- to each their own.

Yeah its just the red/white/blue is clashing but yeah I know what ya mean by painting would ruin it.

But I dont really get how some people dont like the covers? They are a much cleaner and shiny'er look than VHT NiteShading the actual housings. That could slightly decrease light projection where as I just take the covers off at night

I'd keep the silver and color when you put the ponies back on.

I think im going to mask off the colors on the tri-bars then lightly VHT nightshade the chrome and paint the other bars black. If I dont like and if others opinions dont like then Ill just steal some off anotehr mustang around town (hahahahaha im so kidding, ive thought tht about a black mustangs gt side scoops but i would never do that, i have too much intergrity) and just put the normal stock ones on. I just hate the clashing oclors.
