I am thinking of getting a SCT SF3 / XCal3 Power Flash Mustang Tuner. I was informed that they only come with 1 year warranty and I would really hate to spend almost $400 for a device that will crap out on me a year later. I was wondering if all of you could share your good and bad experiences with these tuners.
Thanks.

I'm about to get one of these myself (don't have one yet, so I can't testify to how good/bad they are) but I've heard only good things about them - i mean, otherwise I wouldn't be buying it.
I do have a thought on the price though. How about getting a combo like a JLT intake and a SCT tuner? That will be just over $500 altogether. Or you might get a used SCT from someone..just make sure its not locked to the VIN # of the car it was used in before

Yeah, I think I have read nothing but good reviews about sct tuners; but I figure that these reviews are from the initial use of the tuner and not the life of the tuner. I know that this will be a great tuner out of the box, but I was wondering if any one has had problems a few years down the line.
I have an SCT SF3 for my 2003 GT and I am very pleased with its capabilities however....
1. These tuners are VERY sensitive to heat/cold(I have seen this complaint dozens of times)....if its below 40 or above 70 these things really start being weird. In February here in north carolina I had to make my own "intercooler" for my tuner . Even with windows down and cruising around trying to datalog my tuner would "lose connection" with the car after 1-2 minutes. So I took a cooler, filled a bag with ice and wrapped it up in a shirt with the tuner to keep it cool....it then worked like a charm. I have heard it will also act up in cold weather.
2. The software for interacting with this thing on your computer isnt the most user friendly....clearly designed by mechanics.
