Does this look like a good deal?
From a classified ad:
"1978 Ford Mustang II, T-tops, newer black paint, 302 V8, performance rebuild, headers & holley carb, 4 sp., good tires, must sell! $2,000/offer"

mustang 2s = [sm=badidea.gif][sm=boosign.gif][sm=icon_beat.gif] IMO. drive it and see how much power it has. see if u like it. they were right in the middle of the emissions problems, so power was WAY down.

Yeah I know, but the thing says performance rebuild, so I'm kinda hoping it would have been rebuilt without as much emissions restrictions. I'll have to go take her out for a spin. How much HP were the V8 II's putting out in '78?

Ouch. I was expecting a lot more out of a V8 than that. The latest Mustang Enthusiast has an article on the II's, I should finish reading that I guess.

I tend to be skeptical of any ad with the following types of wording. Built,(as in "it has a built motor"), high performance, 3/4 race cam, too much to list, too much power. You get the idea, that kind of wording leads me to believe that the person is more than likley a hilljack, that slapped a set of headers, a four barrel and some glasspacks on the thing and now he thinks it a racecar. If it were a more desireable car I would say to at least look into it but not a Mustang II.[:'(]
