Default A/C Wiring - Power Cut Out

My "other car" has a lighted switch in the a/c controls section that operates the a/c compressor. When it's on, the air system blows cold but when it's off, the air system blows air at normal outside temps.

I like that, a lot. I want one in my Mustang, too.

I am thinking of installing a switch that basically cuts out the a/c compressor. When I want to just blow air (no cooling) I will turn the switch off, and when I want cooling I will turn it on.

Anyone have any ideas, comments, guidance on this? What would choose for the wiring on the a/c side to use? Is there a "main power" leg to the compressor that I could route through my switch? (How many amps?) Would there be a better one to use?

Where should I look to try to locate these wires?

- Bill
