Default Motive gears

Anyone have motive gears in their car? if so do they have a "whine" i called a shop to ask about installation costs of 4.10 motive gears and he told me not to get motive because they suck basically lol. He said they are always noisy and that i wont want them. He reccomends the ford racing gears. Just want to see if anyone can give me some feedback on them before i have them installed. The motive gears that is.

I'm running Superior 3.55's in mine, quiet. I've heard from a few others that Motives aren't that great. It's hard to go wrong with FRPP's though, usually the factory stuff is very good quality.

Best trap 107.11mph, we'll see what the new intake/carb setup does.

might sound dumb but on a scale of 1 to 10 ten being the worst how annoying is the noise or whine from the gears? i dont mind a little noise but if its obnoxious then im not doing it.

ya i thought the same way lol my cars loud so I was just like ya I can put up with a litttle noise, I took it back the next day lol. For my car, the whine is when its decelerating so theres no exhaust noise to cover it up so they adjusted it a little and its a little better but not enough to just tune out. I will eventually change them out once i find a 3.90 thats not supposed to whine. I would say its like a 7-8 now, it was a 9 1/2 before they adjusted them lol

Mine did it only when keeping a steady speed or slowly accelerating. Once you put your foot in it a little it went away.
