Default Switched to synthetic and now an oil pressure drop!!!!

Alright this is my first post. I have a 1990 Mustang GT and I just recently(2 weeks ago) switched to synthetic from conventional. This is the first time I have drove the car since I changed over. I noticed on my way to work that the oil pressure was lower while running then when I stopped at a red light it dropped way down. It never got to the red and it was stable but low. The car ran strong and I did not hear any odd sounds just noticed when I took off at the red light , the pressure went back up. Any ideas????

that is normal and will probably not hurt anything. the engine need tighter clearances when it is built to run synthetic oil. how many miles on the engine. you never want to change over when you have a high mileage engine. it will clean the engine and all the residue will get in the bottom of the oil pan and stop up the oil pump. don't ask me how i know!!

Unhappy

Well the car is high mileage not exactly sure how high odometer is reading 120xxx but I hear that it has rolled over once already. Guess I have screwed the pooch this time? But everything I had read prior to making the decision to switch was indicating that it was good for higher mileage vehicles?????

Just run a heavier synthetic, like a 10-40

Best trap 107.11mph, we'll see what the new intake/carb setup does.
12.80 at 110.5mph NHRA DA corrected

Your fine, i have a '95 Sonoma 2.2L as Daily Driver. With 128,000+ and counting on it. Switched to semi synthetic about 40,000 miles ago. My Oil Pressure gauge does the same thing acts like a RPM gauge. Mine never dropped below 20 psi usually at cold starts its almost at its max like 75-80. Then once the engine gets warmed up its does like what your talking about 1990Bluestanger. YOU SHOULD BE FINE, JUST LIKE THE PREVIOUS POST'S HAVE STATED.!

Good deal, I am going to go pick up a mechanical gauge this weekend and slap it in to keep monitor over the system. I am about 60 miles south of Atlanta Capri Man.
