Question 66 mustang clutch and tranny problems

hi i have a 1966 mustang coupe that originally came with the inline 6 but then we swapped it to a 302 Cleveland then a freind of mine convinced me to get a t-5 transmission 0ff a 86 or 87 mustang 5.0 saying it would fit now the problem is that we are having trouble with the whole clutch line that is ment to be pulled and the clutch petal on the car has a push rod that pushes out instead of pulling the cable a whole diffrent concept
so if anybody has any soulutions please do let me know and i am kinda new to the whole mustang game
thanks a lot

Post in the classic section, you'll get more responses. Most of us have some kind of 5/6 speed swap and there are multiple ways to do the clutch linkage.

Best trap 107.11mph, we'll see what the new intake/carb setup does.
12.80 at 110.5mph NHRA DA corrected

There is a kit out there. Saw it while browsing through a Mustang magazine while the wife was shopping.

It a T5 into an older Mustang kit. The solidly attach the cable in the car and use the pedal to push on the shealth. Effectiving pulling the cable as your press the pedal. It's ingenious but I don't remember the company name.

Ron Morris makes the clutch cable you are refering to. Had one in my 65 for a year. Not to happy with it so i ended up putting in a hydraulic clutch and so far, I am happy.
