Default Need your help

hope this is the right forum.

So my dads 95 grand am needs a new tire( one went flat in the back), well the rest of the tires arent horrible but not in the best of shape. I tell him you cant just buy one tire you have to at least buy two. I tell him if he doesnt gasemilage will drop alot, new tire will wear very fast and possible cause steering problems. Any things else i should tell him. Cause if you would agree that we need two tires please say so and why so i can show him and maybe talk some sense into him.

Thanks guys.

Yes you should always buy tires in pairs, "at least", if not buying a full set of 4.

Only exception would be if the tires were really new and one got damaged somehow, then you could probably just buy 1. Put both new tires on the same axle.

Yes the car would handle real squirrelly with a NEW tire on one side and an OLD tire on the other.

Do you rotate your tires once in a while?

+1, always change 2 tires at a time. You will have serious balancing issues if you change just 1, not to mention the car will look realy strange with just 1 new tire...
