Help! Going through traps in middle of 4th rather than top of 3rd?!?!
Went to the track last night since putting a new cai, longtubes and x pipe, tune up and underdrives...Everytime ive gone to the track before, i was going the the traps at 5500rpm in 3rd gear with my 3:55s. Last night i put it into 4th about 3/4 track and lost 3-5mph running very disappointing times..clutch isn't slipping or anything....i am assuming its the tranny but i just found it odd...any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

when that happens to me its usually cuz i spun out off the line and shifted out of first way too early. did you get multiple runs in or just the one? if just 1 run i wouldnt worry about it, probably driver error.

13.20's with 2.25-2.30 60's, 40+ year old suspension sucks!
Best trap 107.11mph, we'll see what the new intake/carb setup does.

reguardless if it were driver error or not, i still wouldn't ever hit 4th...i did 3 runs and all were the same...still in 4th...my dumbself was still driving it..haha..but i dont know how it could be the tranny, that would be the rear end more so right?! I am shifting at 5500..

You should probably be shifting at more like 6,000 with your setup, maybe even a tad more. As long as you have good pushrods and valve springs it shouldn't be a problem. Your power probably peaks at 5,500, but it doesn't fall off instantly.
